Cleaning businesses on TikTok
TikTok hashtags for cleaners
Deep cleans and move outs give the biggest visual delta in the trade, and recurring maintenance cleans give almost none. Ranked tags per platform, ten caption templates, and which job types are worth photographing at all.
Three to five, by convention not by rule
TikTok publishes no hashtag cap. Three to five is the number every credible source converged on during research, and TikTok itself has said completion and share rate drive distribution rather than tag count. Tags categorise the video, they do not amplify it.
The 5 to start with
Copy this set, then replace the last one with your own city or suburb tag. That single swap does more for bookings than the other 4 put together, because cleaners sell inside a radius.

30 TikTok hashtags for cleaners
Ranked, not alphabetical. The starter set leads, then the tags native to TikTok, then the before and after tags, then the niche tags that convert, then the broad ones that only categorise. Content-type and outcome tags. Every trade has a tok suffix community tag, and the satisfying and ASMR lane is a real distribution channel rather than a joke.
Broad
7 tagsMillions of posts. These reach far and convert badly. One is useful for categorisation, two is a waste of a slot you cannot spare.

13 tagsThe tags that name what you actually do. This is where most of a five-tag set should come from, and where the rotation happens.

Niche
10 tagsA single service, technique or community. Smallest reach, highest intent, and the tag most likely to put you in front of somebody who is ready to book.

The tags that say transformation
These are the ones worth a slot when the post is a genuine pair rather than a finished shot. They are pulled out of the list above rather than added to it, so nothing here is double counted.

10 before and after captions for cleaners
Written for a before and after post specifically, not for a generic business feed, and shaped for TikTok rather than reused across all three platforms. Anything in curly braces is yours to fill in. One video, hook inside two seconds, the before on screen before anything else.

Not every job is worth photographing
Move out and deep clean jobs give a real visual delta and should carry the transformation tags. Recurring maintenance cleans do not, and are better used for tips content. Posting a weak before and after trains your audience to scroll past the strong ones.
Aim at tag groups you can actually rank in
The cleaning specific guidance is to target tags in the thousands to hundreds of thousands rather than the millions. Above that your post is buried within a minute. With five slots, spending one on cleaning is close to wasting it.
Location information is the biggest single lift
Posts carrying location information reportedly see substantially higher engagement in this trade, and a cleaner can only sell inside a radius anyway. Geo tag and use a city tag.
Never shame the client
The before is someone doing their best in a busy life. Hoarder jokes and mess mocking do numbers and cost referrals, and they make every future client nervous about what you will post about their house. Get permission, and crop anything personal.
Seasonality
Two peaks, not one. Bookings build in January and February and peak from March into April, then surge again in August into the school year. Peak season revenue can run several times a slow month, so publish the booking content in December when people are planning ahead.
Shooting a pair that survives the comments
Stand in the doorway. It is the only position in a room you can find again reliably, and it is where the eye enters anyway. Leave the lights exactly as they were, and do not open the blinds for the after: changed daylight is the most common reason a genuine cleaning before and after gets accused of being staged.
The universal rule underneath all of that, stated independently by sources in every trade researched for this site: identical angle, identical lighting, both frames. Any variance and the transformation reads as dishonest. There is more on that in the guide to matching the shot twice and in why before and afters look fake.
Tags to keep off a cleaner post
Instagram publishes no official banned list and gives no warning when a tag is restricted. Every tag below was flagged by at least one source during research on 1 August 2026, and these lists rotate. Check any tag you use habitually by searching it inside the app: if the tag page says recent posts are hidden, or returns almost nothing, drop it.
- #showerFlagged, and the shower deep clean is one of the best before and afters this trade has. Photograph it, do not tag it.
- #glovesFlagged, and a natural PPE and process tag.
- #nastyFlagged, and reached for on a genuinely grim before shot.
- #deskFlagged, and the obvious tag on a home office clean.
- #hardworkpaysoffFlagged, and the default caption on a long day.
- #dmDM for a quote is standard and the tag is flagged. So is rate.
- #workflowFlagged, and reached for on process and systems content.

The numbers behind the trade
Where these tags came from
Researched on 1 August 2026. Tiers are an editorial judgement from cross source frequency, not a post count: the directory sites that publish counts disagreed with each other by an order of magnitude during research, so none are quoted here.
Common questions
- How many hashtags should cleaners use on TikTok?
- TikTok publishes no hashtag cap. Three to five is the number every credible source converged on during research, and TikTok itself has said completion and share rate drive distribution rather than tag count. Tags categorise the video, they do not amplify it. The starter set at the top of this page is built to that number: One community tok tag, two trade, one satisfying or transformation, one local.
- Are these TikTok hashtags for cleaners up to date?
- Every tag on this page was seen in real use during a research sweep on 1 August 2026, across trade press, supplier blogs, platform discover pages and live captions. No tag here was invented and no post counts are quoted, because the directory sites that publish counts contradicted each other badly enough to make any single figure indefensible.
- Can I just paste all thirty into one post?
- No, and on Instagram you physically cannot: the cap is five and it counts captions and comments together. The thirty on this page are a rotation pool. Take the starter set, swap one or two per post to match what you actually photographed, and keep your location tag in place permanently.
- How do I turn a before and after pair into a video?
- Pick the two photos in Before and After Video Maker, choose a reveal style, and export a 1080p video, a looping GIF or a still. The input is two still photographs: the app cannot compare two video clips, and nothing on this site suggests otherwise.
Now make the video in Before and After Video Maker
Pick the before and the after, choose a reveal, and export a 1080p video, a looping GIF or a still sized for TikTok. Eight templates and all four comparison modes are free, and the input is two still photographs.
